About Hascombe Ward

Hascombe Ward is an 18-bed paediatric ward providing expert care for children with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. We are committed to delivering compassionate, family-centred care in a child-friendly environment that supports your child's recovery and wellbeing.

Our services:

  • General paediatric inpatient care for children of all ages.
  • Paediatric Assessment Unit for urgent review of acute illness or injury and short-stay assessments (accepting referrals from GPs and our Emergency Department).
  • Designated level 2 Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit (POSCU) working in partnership with the Royal Marsden. This means we provide specialised cancer care, including chemotherapy and acute symptom management, to children who are under the care of the Royal Marsden, so that they can receive treatment closer to home.
  • Child-friendly facilities including a playroom for younger children and entertainment systems for older children.
  • Family-centred care. Having your child in hospital can be an anxious time for the whole family. Our friendly team is here to support both you and your child, making your stay as short and stress-free as possible.

Your care team

We have a dedicated team of experienced paediatric healthcare professionals, including consultant paediatricians, specialist paediatric nurses, resident doctors, healthcare assistants, and a play specialist, with input from other services as required.

Working collaboratively, we provide compassionate, round-the-clock care focused on helping your child recover as quickly as possible while keeping them comfortable during their stay.
