Maternity theatre
Our state-of-the-art maternity theatre was officially opened in 2021. This new theatre and its post-operative room put parents welcoming their baby into the world at the heart of their design with attractive and calming decor. You might come here if an assisted delivery is required or to have a caesarean birth in order to achieve a safe outcome.
Choosing to have a caesarean birth
If you are thinking about choosing to have a caesarean birth when there is not a medical reason to do so please talk to your midwife who will be able to arrange appointments for you to talk with other health professionals. Your doctor and midwife will be able to explain the risks and the benefits of a caesarean birth compared with a vaginal birth and ensure you have the right support and information to help you choose the right birth for you and your family.
