Guildford and Waverley GPs can refer adults to the Musculoskeletal Service (MSK) for the triage and assessment of conditions relating to joint, muscle, tendon structures of the arms, legs or spine.
Your referral is reviewed and triaged to an advanced physiotherapy practitioner, consultant or member of the team.
You will be sent a letter with an appointment or if any x-rays or scans are required before the appointment a letter explaining what tests have been ordered.
Your appointment letter will confirm the location of your appointment.
Most of our appointments are held at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in the musculoskeletal department. Information about how to get to the hospital, including information about parking, can be found by our website
Please check in for your appointment in Outpatients 3.
A few clinics are held at Haslemere District Hospital.
We will introduce ourselves to you, and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
Often we will need to carry out an assessment and discuss any scans that may have been taken.
Appropriate clothing such as shorts for a leg problem or vest top for an upper arm problem can be useful.
We will discuss any further investigations and plan the management of your condition with you.
We very much value feedback from all of our patients.
You may get a text requesting friends and family feedback.
In the waiting area you will also find comments cards and a box, where you can tell us about your experience.
