Welcome to the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s Research, Development and Innovation pages.
We are a pioneering medical research centre covering Surrey, Sussex and Kent and have an international reputation for ground-breaking research. In 2018/19 we recruited 2263 participants onto our research programmes and our world-leading clinicians launched 79 new projects.
At any one time we’ll have as many as 250 different research projects underway and these pages will guide you through our work, will provide information about how you can get involved in research and keep you up to date with news of our latest projects and successes.
There’s also a specific resource for researchers where you can find the latest report findings and academic information.
In the on-going event of COVID-19 the Research and Development Department have been working towards altering how research is operated to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Please see below for a link to a recommendations document with advice on how research will be operating in the context of COVID-19.
The NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) is running a new initiative for potential researchers!
They are currently trialing running project development sessions online. This is a great opportunity for healthcare staff to have a chat with an RDS adviser about their research ideas. This is open to anyone in the research pathway as projects do not need to be fully developed to make the most of these sessions.
Below is the link to the RDS website where you are able to book slots:
