Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce that Medirest and MTX Contracts Ltd will be the Headline Sponsors of the Royal Surrey Stars staff awards this year. Both organisations have supported the awards event for a number of years and their continued involvement as lead sponsors for 2026 is greatly appreciated.
Their sponsorship enables the Trust to deliver its awards ceremony, bringing together staff from across the organisation to celebrate success, acknowledge achievements, and recognise the inspiring contributions made by teams and individuals throughout the year.
Medirest has been a trusted partner of Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust since 1994, delivering essential support services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. From patient dining, healthcare cleaning and decontamination to portering, retail, switchboard and security services, Medirest’s dedicated teams work behind the scenes to help create safe, welcoming and compassionate environments for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals alike.
Janiina Eklund, Medirest Contract Director at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, said:
"Medirest is incredibly proud to sponsor the Royal Surrey Stars awards 2026. As a long-standing partner of the Trust, it is a privilege to support this wonderful celebration of the people who make such a profound difference every day.
“These awards provide a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the exceptional talent, dedication, resilience, and compassion demonstrated by colleagues across the organisation. We are honoured to join the Trust in applauding the remarkable achievements of its teams and shining a spotlight on those whose commitment goes above and beyond in delivering outstanding care and services to patients and our local communities."
MTX Contracts Ltd is a family-owned construction company that has been creating state-of-the-art environments for NHS trusts nationwide for 40 years. The company has been involved in a number of recent Royal Surrey building projects, including the Milford Community Diagnostic Centre and the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre (CASIC) at the Guildford site.
Tamara Odey, MTX’s Social Value Manager, said:
“At MTX, we are proud to support the Royal Surrey Stars awards and the remarkable individuals who make a difference to patients, colleagues, and the wider community every day. Having worked with Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust for a couple of years, we have seen first-hand the commitment, expertise, and teamwork that drive success across the organisation. This year, we are particularly proud to celebrate the collaborative achievement of CASIC and to recognise the people whose dedication helps turn ambitious projects and exceptional patient care into reality.”
Royal Surrey Stars award nominations are submitted by staff and patients. This year, a record 1,153 nominations were received, and all those nominated will receive a certificate to mark the achievement. Finalists in each category will be announced later this month, with winners receiving their awards at the Royal Surrey Stars event in November.
