Resus Team leads take up prestigious Resuscitation Council UK positions

Congratulations to Bill Pasquier and Keith Chaplin, who have been selected from over 100 national applicants, to take up subcommittee roles with the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK).

In recognition of their professionalism and the respect with which Royal Surrey’s Resuscitation Team is held, Bill Pasquier, Resuscitation Service Manager, will join the European Paediatric Advanced Life Support Subcommittee, and Keith Chaplin, Senior Resuscitation Officer, will join the Immediate Life Support Subcommittee.

RCUK subcommittees are responsible for developing guidelines, influencing policy and delivering the training courses that are taught nationally in most hospitals and organisations offering emergency treatment. Bill and Keith will be helping to improve RCUK training and ensure their portfolio of courses reaches wider audiences.

Royal Surrey already has strong links with organisations across the world to develop products and software that improves the way resuscitation training is delivered. Joining RCUK’s Subcommittees will strengthen these partnerships, and ensure valuable learning outcomes are shared nationally.

Keith Chaplin said:

“We are excited and proud to be joining RCUK as subcommittee members. There are only a small number of people selected so this is a real privilege. It will allow us to influence national decisions around resuscitation training, drive up standards and give input on how improvements can be made.

“We are looking forward to being able to work alongside other stakeholders and organisations to share knowledge, agree best practice and transfer what we learn into the training we do here at Royal Surrey. This will ultimately benefit our staff development, and improve the already good outcomes we achieve for patients.”
