Dr Lee smashes 50km challenge for Eashing Ward

One of our Trust’s consultants has run an impressive 50km to support Royal Surrey Charity. Dr Chooi Lee, Locum Consultant Physician, Ageing and Health, took part in the tough 50km Goodwood GP Circuit Run on 12 February.

Dr Lee was raising funds for Eashing Ward to help improve the experience of our patients and their loved ones.

She has already raised a brilliant £1,450, which will be used to buy extra equipment to help provide comfort and privacy when families are with their loved ones who are facing end of life care.

Dr Lee said: “I didn’t do very much training, so I was quite nervous but knowing it was for a wonderful cause and the fact I have amazingly generous supporters really helped me during the 13.1 laps round the course.

“I was inspired by Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist Dr Raja Badrakalimuthu, who ran with me and completed the marathon distance, raising money for Dementia Carers Count.

“On Eashing Ward, we care deeply and strive to provide the best experience possible for our patients and their friends and family, often during very emotionally stressful times – so I’m really happy to have completed the run and most importantly, to have raised money for our ward.”
