Orthodontics is a specialist branch of dentistry, concerned with the growth of the teeth, jaws and the face. Orthodontic management aims to create a healthy, functioning bite. In the hospital setting the scope of Orthodontic treatment is limited to the management of more complex cases that may not be suitable for treatment in primary care such as cleft palate, complex jaw discrepancies and patients with special medical needs.
