Dr Bill Fawcett, consultant in Anaesthesia and pain medicine, has been appointed Vice President of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland.

Bill, who has worked at Royal Surrey since 1994, has been a board member of the association for the past four years. He was elected by the President to join him in leading the association, which has over 10,000 members.

Louise Stead, our Chief Executive, said: “This is great news for Bill and for our Trust -  showing the impressive calibre of our staff.. William has been a hard-working part of the association for the past four years, showing just how much dedication he has put into his various roles there. Not only has he been a member of the board, but also he has chaired the education committee and been appointed as their Featherstone Professor.

His new role is very well deserved.”
