Eashing Ward

Eashing Ward

Staff on Eashing Ward have been nominated for their caring, compassionate and supportive approach, along with their ‘nothing-is-too-much’ attitude.

One patient, who spent three weeks on the ward, praised the team for their prompt attention to care needs and the positive relationships between staff and patients. They also highlighted the ward’s efficiency in arranging district nurses, physiotherapy and respiratory therapy support.

Another nomination came from the daughter of a patient who spent five weeks on the ward, commending staff for their kindness and dedication.

Both nominations reflect the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and ensuring every individual feels well supported throughout their stay.

Jasmine Team

Jasmine Team

The Jasmine Team is a dedicated team of mental health midwives and specialist support workers. They’ve been nominated for consistently going above and beyond for those in their care.

Described as ‘angels’, the team has been praised for helping to navigate the maternity system every step of the way. Their support for women with complex mental health needs and other health challenges during pregnancy such as extreme hyperemesis (extreme, persistent nausea) have been particularly highlighted.

Their ability to listen on hard days, offer consistent support for those with anxiety and give a voice to those who find it too difficult to articulate how they’re feeling make a huge difference. One patient said, “I literally could not have survived this time without them”.

Oncology Research Team

Oncology Research Team

A nomination from a palliative care patient for our Oncology Research Team has praised the exemplary fashion with which the team handled a clinical trial for head and neck cancer.

The immunotherapy trial involved co-ordinating six weekly CT scans, three weekly phlebotomy tests and the production of two experimental medications for immunotherapy treatment on Chilworth Ward. All the while, the team also had to deal with the external sponsor to make sure everyone is working to the same goal.

The team are praised for their ability to explain in easy-to-understand language the stages of the treatment and possible side effects, making the patient feel supported, cared for, valued and important. The patient said he "could not have been in better hands".
