1) The charges for ultrasound baby scan pictures for the years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 until now (how much you charge expectant mums/dads).
From 2011 to June 2014 the charge for ultrasound baby scan pictures was £7 with no fixed number of photographs – but usually 3.
From June 2014 to the current time the Trust has been using the new pricing structure of £5 for one photo, £10 for 3 or £15 for a disk.
2) The figures for how much profit has been made from the ultrasound charges for each year from 2011 to now. The figures below provide a breakdown of the profit for ultrasound baby scan pictures based on the current pricing structure. To obtain such figures for each year from 2011 to 2014 would necessitate a lengthy exercise to establish this information over the requisite time period and, therefore, the cost of compliance would exceed the appropriate limit under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act.
Compact disk photography was introduced in June 2014.
The charge per disk is £15 with multiple image storage. It is calculated that the profit per disk (less costs) is £6.
3) An explanation for why the charges increased (if they did so). The changes in the pricing structure were implemented following an upgrade in the services the Trust offers following feedback from patients. The new system allows more choice for women who prefer more permanent methods of storage of photographs with the introduction of a compact disk option which can be used and sent to family and friends at the discretion of the woman who owns the information. Ultimately, this can be much more cost effective than buying multiple photographs for family and friends.
