May I kindly ask for your advice regarding the formulary list used by professionals at the Trust. Could you please clarify if it is developed and used jointly by other organisations i.e. Trusts and/or CCGs. The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Formulary is developed by the hospital’s Drugs and Therapeutics Committee. It is not developed or used jointly with other organisations. Decisions are made by the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee taking into consideration decisions made by other organisations e.g. the Surrey Prescribing Clinical Network (PCN).
Moreover, could you please advise regarding the Trust’s input in The Surrey Prescribing Advisory Database (‘PAD’), is it also used by the prescribers within the Trust. The PAD is maintained by members of the Medicines Management Teams who provide services to the local Clinical Commissioning Groups. It is not managed by the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Prescribers within the Trust are encouraged to access the PAD to identify where clinical and prescribing responsibility should lie for a specific drug across the interface between primary and secondary care.
