I was elected as a staff governor in September 2018. I’m an Occupational Therapist in the Rapid Response Service in Milford, one of the services that has recently joined the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH). I live locally with my husband and with two young children. I have worked in a variety of healthcare roles for nearly 15 years and have a wide range of experiences from various settings.
I believe that staff representation on the Council of Governors is desirable to ensure that considering staff wellbeing is part of the policy making process, as after all we all spend a large proportion of our waking time at work.
