Armorel Salberg

Research Nurse

Armorel qualified as a Staff Nurse in 2006. Since then has worked in Gynaecology, Tropical and Infectious Disease and  ICU.  Armorel joined the ICU research team in August 2017 as she is passionate about advancing clinical practice through research within the ICU setting. Armorel was published in the Journal of Nursing Ethics in 2007, and is looking forward to participating in future studies and trials. Armorel is currently on Maternity Leave and will return in 2019. 

Gokce Daysal

Research Practitioner

Gokce currently works for the SPACeR research group, setting up, co-ordinating, assist with clinical investigations as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data managing in clinical trials and research studies in surgical, Critical Care (ICU), peri-operative and anaesthetics studies at Royal Surrey County Hospital. She has previously worked as a screening assistant for Bowel Cancer Screening Southern Programme Hub as well as a Clinical Research Assistant at Surrey Clinical Research Centre MHRA phase 1 supplementary accredited research unit. She has worked on variety of studies including sleep and wake, oncology studies in patients, vaccine trials including HIV, insomnia, drug trials and food supplement trials.

Harry Brown

Research Assistant

After graduating from the University of Leicester Harry volunteered as a research assistant for the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust doing administrative and data entry tasks for a number of studies spanning from mental health to migraine treatment. In June 2018 he took this role as a research assistant and is now working on a mixture of SPACeR and surgical studies, mostly seeing patients and managing data.

Kathryn McIntosh

Surgical Coordinator

Kathryn worked in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as Data Manager for two years with Cancer Research, and prior to this worked with Health Intelligence as a System Analyst. As Data Manager she was responsible for overseeing all data entry, management of study documentation and coordination of patient events and biological sample processing. She worked very closely with Research Nurses, Surgeons, Pathologists, Pharmacy staff and sponsors coordinating all aspects of over 23 non-commercial studies.

Jessica Welch

Research Assistant

Jessica graduated from the University of Roehampton with a degree in psychology, where she worked in research primarily looking into the effect of anxiety and attention on brain waves. Having completed her undergraduate degree, she went on to complete her masters in Clinical Neuroscience at UCL, where her thesis was assessing brain perfusion levels in frontotemporal dementia patients, and comparing them to controls. She now works as a perioperative research assistant for the SPACeR research group.’
