Diabetes research is run from the CEDAR center, Centre for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Research.
The CEDAR Centre has an inbuilt research unit with beds and laboratory facilities and provides excellent clinical and research facilities. The department has an ongoing research programme which offers a variety of research opportunities to our patients, including clinical trials and educational research developed with the team at the University of Surrey.
The research team work closely with pharmaceutical companies to develop and deliver studies that will directly improve treatment options for patients. This has allowed the department to be internationally recognised as a centre that produces high quality research and at the forefront of innovative diabetes treatment.
