Clinical Nurse Specialist Gynaecology
Many years experience in gynaecology. Ward/Outpatients and Theatre
My work is varied and as a specialist nurse involves supporting women and their families through important times of change in their life, whether it is undergoing major surgery, fertility issues or other traumatic events which affect their day to day lives. As a member of the Association of Psychosexual Nursing I am committed to working with women through these difficult events.
One of my roles also involves working with the Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgical Teams to assess, plan and monitor the care pathway for women whose stay in hospital is often less than 24hrs. This process enables the patient to recover in their own home after major surgery with expert nursing support.
Another important aspect of my work is caring for women with severe Endometriosis. We offer a clinic to assist women with these symptoms, which may sometimes lead to extensive surgery for young women. Providing expert care for these women enables them to move forward with their lives and offering education and group support is an important and beneficial part of my work.
My goal is to provide a holistic approach to care by sharing knowledge and skills to patients and other health professionals.
