Private postnatal rooms at Royal Surrey maternity unit
Amenity beds are available to NHS patients who wish to pay for the privacy of a single room and en-suite facilities during their postnatal stay. You have the option of an amenity room or a Shere Suite private room. Your treatment remains with the NHS and all rooms are subject to availability.
Single postnatal room
After giving birth you can choose to upgrade to an amenity single room for a nightly fee. You will continue to receive NHS maternity care with peace to rest and recover. We have six amenity rooms that are subject to availability at the following nightly rates:
- Single room with en-suite toilet and handwashing facility £220
- Single room with en-suite shower and toilet facilities £258
Speak to your midwife on the birthing suite to arrange an amenity bed; unfortunately, we cannot accept advanced booking for these rooms.
Shere Suite
Planning your postnatal stay in a private room offers the peace of mind that you can enjoy the first days of parenting your new arrival in a quiet, comfortable environment. Furnished to a higher standard your private room package includes:
- bedside cot
- en-suite bathroom
- tea/ coffee provisions and fridge
- natural pampering product gift set and slippers
- feeding consultation
During your stay at the Shere Suite, you will continue to receive our outstanding NHS midwifery, obstetric and neonatal care. These rooms are available for advanced reservation for those women who have a planned date for delivery and at short notice subject to availability. The price of the Shere Suite is £450.
