The Royal Surrey County Hospital Maternity Services are renowned for their high standards of clinical and midwifery care.  Approximately 3,500 women and their families are cared for every year by the team of midwives, obstetricians and maternity support workers.

Shere ward

Shere is the Maternity Ward and is located on level G

Jacqui Tingle is the Head of Midwifery

Delivery suite

Our Delivery Suite is located next to Shere ward

Lynne Argile is the Matron (for the Delivery Suite and Obstetric Theatre)

The Maternity Unit has a Consultant led Delivery Suite and a Midwifery led Home From Home Unit.

There is 24 hour provision for on site Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics and Midwifery Care.

The Delivery Suite offers:

  • Dedicated Obstetric Theatre
  • High Dependency Unit
  • Eight Birthing Rooms with piped Entonox and suction
  • 24hr epidural service
  • Midwife led Pool Room

The Home From Home offers:

  • Two birthing rooms with piped Entonox and suction
  • Close proximity to Delivery Suite
  • Small team of midwives
  • Kitchen area to prepare snacks and drinks
