Avril Adams

Research Sister

Avril is involved in recruiting patients to both breast and surgical trials. She works closely with oncologists and surgeons and supports patients through their treatment and follow-up.

Celia Harris

Research Nurse

Celia works within the team to recruit to the breast and melanoma trials and provides support for the urological trials. Celia has had experience giving chemotherapy and has worked on the oncology in-patient ward here at the Royal Surrey.

Nick Pilkington

Research Nurse

Nick works with patients with head & neck, prostate, testicular and some bladder cancers. With the assistance of the team, he recruits patients to trials and monitors them during treatment and follow-up. Nick has previously worked on research in neurology and otorhinolaryngology.

Zara Saleh

Data Manager

Zara joined the trust and the research team in 2004. She has also worked as an MDT Coordinator for nearly a year. As a data manager she is responsible for overseeing data in relation to the recruitment and management of cancer patients on clinical trials. She works closely alongside the Research Nurses.

Miriam White

Data Manager

Miriam joined the Trust in 2018. She previously worked as a Clinical Data Manager for 4 years. As a Research Data Manager she is responsible for ensuring the integrity and population of trials databases within the Oncology Research Team.

Kavita Bhat

Data Manager

Kavita joined the Trust in February 2019. She previously worked on range of clinical trials in various therapeutic areas as a Clinical Research Monitor for different CRO’s and pharmaceutical companies. As a Research Data Manager she is responsible for ensuring the integrity of databases within the Oncology Research Team. She is responsible for entering the clinical data and query resolution of various oncology trials she is working on.

Lesley Harden

Research Coordinator

Lesley attended her placement for her MSc in Radiotherapy at St Luke’s, this involved a short placement in the Radiotherapy Research team doing administrative tasks for a number of studies spanning breast, prostate and head & neck cancer radiotherapy trials. After graduating from London South Bank University she took this role as a research coordinator and is now working on a range of chemotherapy trials with prostate, breast, melanoma and head & neck cancer trials
