Staff recognised for their contribution to clinical research

NIHR award 'Well done team'

The local NIHR Clinical Research Network have announced the winners of their 2020 Partner Awards.
 
Congratulations to Dr Ben Craig Brown. Ben won a highly commended award in the Improvement and Innovation category for his work in providing patients at NHS several sites with the opportunity to participate in the PARIS study.
 
The Trust was also nominated for awards in following categories:
 
Best contribution to commercial research for our work in increasing the number of commercial studies recruiting on time to target.
 
Best contribution to non-commercial research - Dr Ben Creagh-Brown for his contribution to establishing new local anaesthesia and critical care studies and his engagement with colleagues to initiate and deliver these studies.
 
Best contribution to non-commercial research - Dr San Sunkaraneni for his work on the MACRO trial which aims to define best Management in Adult Chronic RhinOsinusitis. Our Trust is the highest recruiting site in the UK.
 
Involving patients in research - Cheryl Marriott and the research teams at Royal Surrey Hospital for their work in increasing the percentage of patients who share their research experience with others to 20%. More research participants at our Trust now share their experience of participating in research than at any other Trust in Kent Surrey and Sussex CRN partnership.
