BadgerNet Maternity Records

Midwives working within the hospital and community will care for you throughout your pregnancy, labour and postnatal period.  Through team midwifery we aim to give continuity of care both before and after the birth of your baby.  Each surgery has a named midwife who is primarily responsible for your care during your pregnancy. You are welcome to contact her should you have any specific worries or concerns.

When you are booked for your pregnancy your records will be held electronically in a system called ‘BadgerNet‘. You will be able to access your record and schedule of antenatal and postnatal care through the Maternity Notes app by clever med. This app is free to download from the app store and google play.

If you are have any problems accessing your app at any time, please email rsch.maternitynotessupport@nhs.net and we will get back to you within 4 working days.

Please include your mobile number and the number you wish to be contacted on as well as the best time of day for us to contact you.

What is BadgerNet Maternity Notes?

BadgerNet’s Maternity Notes is an online portal and app that allows you to access your maternity records over the internet through your PC, tablet device or mobile phone.

The information that you view is generated in real-time from your hospital-based maternity system, using details entered by your midwife or other health professionals involved in your care.

What are the benefits?

BadgerNet’s Maternity Notes will be replacing our old yellow handheld notes. There are a number of benefits to using Maternity Notes, over paper notes, such as:

  • Information can be shared with you directly from the maternity system
  • Records can be easily updated at each maternity visit or appointment
  • Midwives do not have to double enter data onto paper handheld notes
  • Only those with the correct login details are able to access the notes.

You can add information regarding:

  • Yourself, such as your occupation and any allergies. This can be discussed with your midwife at your booking appointment
  • Your plans and preferences for birth
  • Feedback regarding your antenatal care, labour and birth experiences.

How secure is it?

• All information is held securely and cannot be accessed without the correct login details (similar to internet banking)
• Maternity Notes is powered by BadgerNet, the same secure platform used by healthcare professionals involved in your maternity care.
