The event, organised in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association, will take place in the Trust’s Post Graduate Education Centre on Tuesday May 31, between 14:00 and 15:30.
This follows the success of the first patient support group, which Royal Surrey’s Eye Clinic organised last year.
It will explore alternative options for treating glaucoma and high eye pressure, including laser therapy and surgical techniques.
Mr Dan Lindfield, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma lead, said: “It is a great event and the feedback we received from patients who attended our first support group was fantastic.
“I am also trying to create a supportive group who communicate amongst themselves outside of these meetings to discuss issues with and hold regular meetings with.”
In the meantime, Mr Lindfield is also asking for patients to contact him with their suggestions for possible topics they would like covered.
For more information about the support group or to register your interest in attending please contact Mr Lindfield’s secretary, Teresa Butler. Book now via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 01483 571122 ext 2089.
*Royal Surrey is also holding a joint ophthalmology and audiology health event at Surrey Sports Park on April 6, between 14:00 and 16:00.
