Royal Surrey County Hospital has celebrated its first cohort of Filipino nurses, who have completed their overseas nursing program at Surrey University.
Chief Executive Peter Dunt presented the 26 nurses with their Royal Surrey badges and certificates during a special ceremony on Monday, November 16.
Jo Embleton, Deputy Director of Nursing, said: “These nurses are hugely important to the Trust as there is a national shortage of Registered Nurses. They have worked very hard to complete their training and will make a huge impact in the delivery of patient care and experience.”
“Royal Surrey County Hospital is committed to recruiting in Manila and will continue working in partnership with Surrey University in order to deliver the overseas nursing program.”
Nino Jordan Mario A Yusay, one of the nurses who completed the course, said: “The overseas nursing qualification has given us all more confidence, as sometimes things are done slightly differently in the UK.”
