Covid-19 Vaccination

You will have seen the recent news that the first Covid-19 vaccine has now been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This is a major development and offers hope toward the end of what has been a difficult year. It is a huge step towards keeping you protected; getting vaccinated means protecting yourself from the virus so you can be there for your family, and friends (whilst still adhereing to the Government guidelines).

We are one of 50 hospital hubs providing the vaccine against Covid-19.

People aged 80 and over as well as care home workers will be first to receive the jab, along with NHS workers who are at higher risk.

Staff will contact patients to invite them in for appointments and offer the vaccine. Please do not contact, or visit, the hospital to seek a vaccine before then.

Furthermore, GPs and other primary care staff are also being put on standby to start delivering the vaccine in future weeks. Other vaccination centres treating large numbers of patients in sporting venues and conference centres will subsequently begin when further supplies of vaccine come on stream.
