I am a Barrister and a Solicitor specialising in Clinical Negligence (medical Malpractice). I am also a State Registered Nurse.
Since 1990 I have been involved in teaching health professionals, including doctors and nurses, in the process of law and prevention of clinical negligence in clinical settings.
In 2002 as part of my PhD I conducted comprehensive research at a local hospital to determine the extent to which doctors and nurses respect the dignity and personal privacy of the patients. The key aspects of my recommendations have been implemented throughout the NHS hospitals.
Being a recent patient at RSCH reinforced my view that patients should receive quality care reflecting current research.
As a governor I bring with me intimate knowledge of the NHS and am able to advise in the formulation of key strategies in the prevention of clinical negligence and improvement of patients’ care.
