More than 70 people attended the meeting which provided an overview of new treatment developments, as well as highlighted the services currently available through St Luke’s Cancer Centre.
Attendees had the opportunity to quiz Professor Hardev Pandha and Dr Agnieszka Michael, as well as hear from one of the Trust’s dietitians.
The event, which was sponsored by Macmillan and took place at the Holiday Inn, Guildford, was organised by Lucie Broome, Royal Surrey’s renal cancer clinical nurse specialist, in response to patient feedback.
Vicki Mumford, Head of Nursing for Oncology, said: “Here at Royal Surrey we are committed to providing the highest standards of care to our patients.
“Lucie has worked closely with this particular group of patients, firstly to find out how we could further support their needs and then subsequently organising this event.
“Those who attended were able to ask questions and find out about treatments that they may have heard about in the media, as well as explore the services currently on offer at Royal Surrey through St Luke’s Cancer Centre.
