Stop Smoking

Encouraging and helping people to stop smoking is a priority when it comes to improving and maintaining the health of our patients.

We have A Stop Smoking Advisor based on site who works on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We are able to offer free and confidential advice on how to quit successfully. We will advise you on the products available, refer on or support you throughout your quit attempt. Using support and a suitable product to help stop smoking has been shown to give smokers four times the chance of being successful.

If you would like free, confidential advice on how to quit successfully and the support service available then ask the nursing or medical staff to refer you to the Stop Smoking Specialist Advisor.

If you are coming into hospital for an operation, stopping smoking beforehand will improve your recovery rate and reduce the risk of infections so if you are having planned surgery ask to be referred to the Stop Smoking Service at your pre-op assessment and an advisor will contact you.
