Royal Surrey staff involved in the Enhancing Quality Programme
The Royal Surrey County Hospital has been presented with a prestigious award from the Enhancing Quality Programme for being the consistently highest performing Trust in the South East region.
This improvement programme covers the whole of Kent, Surrey and Sussex and focuses on the improvement of care for patients with myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, community acquired pneumonia and receiving hip and knee surgery. The Royal Surrey was the highest performing Trust, out of the 10 in the region, across all the patient pathways in the programme.
Nick Moberly, Chief Executive of the Royal Surrey, said:
“The award was based on examination of performance against other Trusts and the standards which hospitals are expected to achieve. It was shown that not only do we overall perform the best against all other Trusts; we also remain consistently high performers over time.
“We are absolutely delighted with this award and a huge thanks needs to go to the many staff who contributed towards us receiving this award. This is great recognition for the high quality care and treatment we are committed to providing for our patients.”
The Enhanced Quality Programme is a regional project that currently operates across the South East. It is a clinician-led quality improvement programme that aims to improve patient outcomes and reduce variation in the quality of care across the region. Enhancing Quality focuses on three areas; clinical effectiveness, patient safety and patient experience. The emphasis is on teams working together to share best practice to drive improvements.
