Professor Graham Layer elected as Vice President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
Professor Graham Layer, Consultant Breast Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, has been elected as Vice-President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Professor Layer will take up the post following the Edinburgh College’s Annual General Meeting on Friday 13th November. The term of office for the Vice-Presidents is three years.
Professor Layer said: “I’m delighted and honoured to have been elected into this prestigious position in an international organisation dedicated to excellence and advancements in surgical practice. It is an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to the surgical profession and to the support of the highest clinical standards in training and clinical practice for the benefit of our patients. The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is the oldest surgical college in the country, now some 510 years old and has well over 20,000 active members worldwide. It will be a privilege to serve and I am grateful to the Trust and my special colleagues and patients for their great encouragement.”
