Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) is programme of exercise, education and support for people who have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty or other cardiac surgery. It helps people regain their confidence and exercise safely; gives support and motivation in making any necessary lifestyle changes and ultimately speeds up the process of returning to normal and getting back to work.
The Royal Surrey County Hospital boasts an established and comprehensive CR Programme. CR as a whole has been shown to reduce cardiac mortality by as much as 27% over three years.
