Local people are being asked to submit their nominations for Royal Surrey County Hospital's “Patients' Choice Award” to recognise an outstanding hospital employee or team who provides an exceptional service above and beyond the call of duty.
This is the third year the Patients' Choice Award has featured as part of the hospital annual Staff Recognition Awards, which is one of the biggest events in the hospital's calendar.
Nominations for the Patients' Choice Award can come from anyone in the communities served by Royal Surrey, including patients, a family member or a carer.
The Chairman of Royal Surrey County Hospital, Peter Dunt said:
“This award aims to recognise individuals or groups whose commitment and dedication ensures that exceptional care is delivered to patients.
“Our Trust is lucky to have so many extraordinary members of staff and this award gives local people the chance to acknowledge those special individuals who go the extra mile in their day to day work.
“If you have been impressed by the care and treatment from an individual or team and feel they deserve to be recognised for their dedication in providing high quality care, please nominate them for a Patients' Choice Award”.

There are three ways to nominate someone:
All nominations must state the full name of the person being nominated and the ward or department that they work in. The nominee must also include their own name, address and telephone number. Nominators’ details will not passed on to any third parties.
For the 2012 awards, the closing date for receipt of nominations is 27th July 2012. The winner will be announced at the Trust’s Annual Staff Recognition Awards Ceremony in October.
