Visiting hours and other helpful information

Visiting hours and other helpful information

Do not visit or attend wards/clinics or departments if you or your family have experienced symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the last 48 hours.

We invite you to visit the hospital between the hours of 3-5pm and 6-8pm.

We do ask for visitors’ cooperation as our doctors and nurses will need to continue to provide care and treatment and it may be necessary for visitors to temporarily step out while this is done.  We also ask all visitors to please adhere to the following

  • No more than two visitors visit a patient at a time
  • Please do not bring or send flowers to patients
  • Please do not bring children under 10 years without prior discussion with the nurse in charge. It is not recommended to bring babies under one year old into the hospital environment
  • Please ensure children are supervised at all times
  • Please adhere to any requests regarding hand cleaning and side room notices
  • For exceptions to these rules, please discuss with the Nurse in charge of the ward
  • Some of our wards operate protected mealtimes when we ask you to please refrain from visiting (unless your relative could benefit from assistance in eating, in which case we would welcome and value your help with this).

Paediatrics, Special Care Baby Unit and Maternity are excluded from this policy, please check visiting arrangements with those departments.

Public and bank holidays

Some services may not be available, and some departments may be closed, on public and bank holidays.

To find out which are open, please call the hospital’s main reception on 01483 571122
