Only use A&E in an emergency

RS107735_DSC_4042-scrLike many hospitals at this time of year, our A&E department is extremely busy.

We are urging members of the public to only come to A&E in an emergency. It is not an alternative to a GP appointment.

Choosing the right NHS service not only will help ease the pressure on A&E staff, but also may result in quicker treatment.

Don’t forget that your GP or pharmacist can offer you advice and treatment.

If you do attend A&E with a minor injury or ailment you may have to wait a significant period of time.

People who are uncertain of what they should do, should call NHS 111 for free health advice and assistance.
