The mayors of Guildford, Godalming, Elmbridge and Woking toured the hospital on Tuesday, December 22, spreading festive cheer and witnessing the good work of hospital staff.
They were joined by the Deputy Mayor of Waverley and Mole Valley’s Chairman on the tours led by Deputy Directors of Nursing Jenny Faulkner and Jo Embleton, which took in both surgical and non-surgical wards.
Among the visitors was Waverley Borough Council’s Deputy Mayor, Chris Storey, who has recently agreed to become one of the hospital’s governors.
Royal Surrey’s Chief Executive Peter Dunt said: “I would like to thank all the Mayors for taking the time to visit Royal Surrey.
“Their annual visit always brings a sense of occasion and Christmas cheer to staff and patients alike.
“It is also a great opportunity to showcase the great work and continuous progression taking place at Royal Surrey and update the Mayors on projects, such as our proposed merger with Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.”
