The Royal Surrey Maternity Unit are holding a friendly, informal forum for Mums and Dads, who have recently been cared for by them, to share their experience of pregnancy and birth. The sessions are being held at the Bellfields Childrens Centre, Hazel Avenue, Guildford and will run from 1.30 – 2.30pm on 9th August, 7th October and 9th December.
It is planned to run the forum at regular intervals so that maternity care can be responsive to the needs of families.
Jenny Hughes, Head of Midwifery said;
“It is really important that Mums and Dads let us know how we are doing. We often hear what has gone really well and occasionally not so well and now need to fill in the gaps of what the average experience is. We are looking forward to seeing lots of Mums, Dads and especially babies!”
Jenny Hughes will be present the meeting along with midwives, users and others interested in maternity care. The views collected not only will help to shape and improve the care at the Royal Surrey but will feed into the county wide Maternity Service Liaison Committee (MSLC).
There is no need to book a place on any of the sessions, you can just turn up. If you would like further information about the forum please contact the Maternity team on 01483 406725.
