Meet the Midwives from the Royal Surrey Maternity Department at the first Health Event of 2012

The first health event of 2012 at the Royal Surrey will be a presentation by Jacqui Tingle, Head of Midwifery, at 7pm on Wednesday 25^th January.   

The evening will cover a variety of aspects of the Maternity Department at the Royal Surrey but will be mainly focused on the active birth approach to pregnancy and labour.  The presentation promises to offer a range of photographs, including a look at our ultrasound scanning department and an insight into the work of the specialist Home Birth team.  There will also be photos and information about our Day Assessment Unit, the Transitional Care Unit for babies who need a little more support at the start and a look at the wards, including the refurbished side rooms for those parents wanting a little more privacy following birth. 

Jacqui Tingle said: 

“I will be going through lots of topics about maternity to give people a real flavour of what our department has to offer.  Maternity is such a diverse department and we strive to give our Mums and Dads the best care possible.  There is such a range of maternity services available at the Royal Surrey; I will touch on as much as possible during the evening.” 

After the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask Jacqui Tingle and her team any questions about pregnancy, giving birth and the care available in the Royal Surrey Maternity Department.  The evening will also be a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in becoming a midwife to find out more about this exciting department at the hospital. 

The presentation will start at 7pm in the Education Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital with tea and coffee available from 6.30pm. The evening is open to everyone and there will be an opportunity for people to sign up to join the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust if they are not already a member.
