I have spent all my adult life as a Nurse starting work as a Health Care Assistant at 17. I have worked as a staff nurse, sister, Nurse Manager and currently Matron at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and I feel a commitment to the hospital. I have been involved in the operational management of the hospital for many years now and I believe Nurses and Midwives are key to the Trust’s clinical performance and a positive patient experience. I have been a governor since the hospital became a Foundation Trust and have welcomed the opportunity to represent the interests of Nurses and Midwives in the strategic development of the Trust by reflecting their views within the Council of Governors. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to have made a contribution to the way our hospital is governed during a period of challenges and changes both locally and in the wider health community. I continue to make myself accessible and actively seek the views of Nurses and Midwives.
