1. Is Royal Surrey County NHS Foundation Trust routinely collecting data on secondary (metastatic) breast cancer? This data is extrapolated at Multidisciplinary Department Team (MDT) level.
2. If so, how many people were diagnosed with the disease within the Trust in the last twelve months (or for the latest period available)? These should include (a) those who were diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at their first presentation; and (b) those for whom their primary breast cancer has progressed and spread to other parts of the body. Please also include the time period this data refers to. From April 2015 to March 2016 data extrapolated at MDT level indicates that 31 patients have been diagnosed with new metastatic disease (no primary- previous breast cancer), new metastatic disease with a new primary or disease progression from a known primary:
12 presented with new metastatic disease from previous breast cancer with no new primary.
5 presented as disease progression.
14 patients presented as a new primary with metastatic disease.
