The use of Agency staff in the NHS is in the news a lot at the moment, with the focus in the main on the use of Nursing staff. I am looking at the other positions supplied, starting with AHP and HSS staff.
|Allied Health Professionals||Health Science Services|
|Orthoptists||Dental Service Staff (excluding dental nurses)|
|Speech and Language Therapists||Pathologists|
|Pharmacy Services Staff|
Please could you provide me with the following information:
- Names of Agencies used to provide AHP or HSS staff over the last 12 months
- Monthly spend, on Agency Staff, per job role over the last 12 months
- Hours , per job role, filled each month by Agency over the last 12 months
The spreadsheet below provides data for the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for the last 12 months, 11 of which are in Financial Year 2016 (April 2015 – February 2016) and 1 month in Financial Year 2015 (March 2015). The Trust does not hold data on the number of hours per job role filled each month by agency staff. Please also note that the Trust has used Cost Centre as a proxy for type of staff (e.g. Physiotherapy for Physiotherapists) as the Trust only has subjective codes for Agency PAMs (Professionals Allied to Medicine), Agency Scientific and Agency Professional & Technical.
