St Luke's has a large team of experienced and specialist staff. Our oncology services are led by the Clinical Director Dr Marianne Illsley and Associate Director Nichola Moore.
Our team of oncologists are all specialists in the treatment of various cancers and are supported by a team of other doctors, including Specialist Registrars and Senior House Officers.

All of the consultants have a medical secretary who can be contacted on the extension numbers listed above.
Diagnostic Radiographers are specialist staff trained to take images and perform scans for use in diagnosing health problems. Some of these staff specialise further to work in areas such as Nuclear Medicine.
Health Care Assistants work within St Luke's Cancer Centre to support trained staff in all treatment areas. They wear dark blue trousers and pale grey tunics.
Medical Physics work behind the scenes assisting the doctors and radiographers in planning your radiotherapy treatment and performing quality assurance on the treatment machines. For further information regarding their role, please click here.
Nursing Staff are experienced in cancer care and work with the doctors in our clinical areas. They administer treatments such as chemotherapy and blood transfusions and are there to support you during your treatment. The nurses wear light or dark blue dresses or tunics.
There are also Clinical Nurse Specialists in the St Luke's Cancer Centre to offer support and answer your questions specific to your area of treatment and Research Nurses who may talk to you about clinical trials that are available.
Nutrition and Dietetics If you have any concerns about maintaining your weight, are unsure whether to take vitamin and mineral supplements or have any other queries regarding your diet, there is a team of specialist dieticians available to advise you on any aspect of food and nutrition during your treatment, and can help match your nutrition to your specific needs. You may be referred to a dietician as part of your treatment or you can ask to be referred to one.

Pharmacists prepare your chemotherapy and dispense other medication that you may need whilst receiving treatment. They are able to offer advice on how to take your medicines and answer any questions you may have on your current medication.
Phlebotomists are trained staff that take blood samples for analysis, called blood tests.
Porters undertake many roles and provide assistance to both patients and staff within St Luke's Cancer Centre. The porters wear navy blue trousers and tops.
A Private Patient Co-ordinator provides assistance to private patients undergoing a course of radiotherapy and is located in the Radiotherapy Department on Level A. Information for radiotherapy private patients can be found here.
Radiotherapy Assistants work to assist the radiographers in all areas of the radiotherapy department and wear white tunics with no trim and navy blue trousers.
Receptionists will greet you and check you in, check your details and book further appointments for you.
Social Services Staff offer an assessment and care planning service for people in need of community care.
Technical Staff ensure all radiotherapy machines are in full working order on a daily basis and regularly maintain the equipment. The technical staff wear grey polo shirts and black trousers.
Therapeutic Radiographers are specialist staff trained to plan and deliver your radiotherapy and will be able to help with any questions you have or advice or support you may need during your radiotherapy treatment.
