Welcome to the Radiology Department. We are committed to providing a patient centred, efficient and timely service, using specialised technology to produce accurate diagnostic images and radiological procedures.

We deliver a variety of services to patients referred to us from GPs, Trust Consultants and their teams and referring clinicians from other establishments.

The majority of our images are no longer produced on x-ray film, but are now stored on a central computer system – PACS – which allows for easy transference and simultaneous image viewing around the Trust.

• Our 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner was installed in 2005.
• A 64 slice CT scanner was installed in 2007.
• State of the art Interventional equipment was installed in 2007. This includes the first UK installation of the iGuide needle guidance system.
• Digital mammography equipment is due to be installed by the end of 2008.
