An innovative cardiology unit providing most aspects of cardiac investigations and treatment staffed by a dedicated team of cardiologists, nurses and technicians.

Investigations include coronary angiography performed in our recently built cardiac catheter lab with an adjoining cardiac day ward, permanent pacing including complex pacing soon to be started with the appointment of a third cardiologist. 

Cardiac MR scanning, CT coronary angiogram and myocardial perfusion scanning in conjunction with radiology, exercise testing, echocardiography including stress and perfusion echos, 24 hour ECGs and BP monitors, MVO2 testing and cardiomemos.

We also provide nurse specialists in heart failure, chest pain and cardiac rehabilitation. We were one of the top three finalists in the national NHS Health and Social Care awards for service improvement.

Cardiology inpatients usually stay on Merrow ward.
