What happens elsewhere? World Wide Midwifery

Each year, during Midwifery Week - the first week of May, the Maternity Unit organises events and an exhibition to pay tribute to midwives and their support workers at home and abroad.

Local relaxation therapists have kindly donated their time and skills to make Midwifery Week a cause for celebration amidst their very busy schedules.  Our display features midwifery experience abroad and feedback from other countries.

Some members of the department have also kept links with and raised funds for overseas projects which require continued efforts of support.  You may like to read about other projects on the international pages of the Royal College of Midwives website.
