The Gastroenterology department is a forward thinking unit, committed to team working for the benefit of patients.

• Comprehensive general Gastroenterology service. We offer a full range of benign gastroenterology services, including benign and malignant upper and lower gastrointestinal disorders and liver diseases, and specialist management for patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
  
  
•  Consultant delivered endoscopy services with provision of advanced therapeutic endoscopy. All methods of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy are provided, including Endoscopic Ultrasound and ECRP essential for the network cancer services for GI malignancy. Both Dr Tibbs and Dr Gallagher teach on the National Endoscopy Training centre at St George’s Hospital. Dr Tibbs provides specialist expertise in biliary endoscopy including Endoscopic Ultrasound, and Dr Gallagher is an accredited Screening Colonoscopist for the national Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
  
  
• Weekly specialist Hepatology clinic incorporating the West Surrey Viral Hepatitis service. The Royal Surrey Hepatology clinic runs in parallel to the surgical liver clinic providing seamless care for patients with hepatobiliary malignancy.  Expertise is available for the management of complex chronic liver diseases including Viral Hepatitis and pre and post transplant care.  Outcomes for this service are amongst the best in the UK.
