Health Events

These evenings are informative talks from various departments across the hospital and are aimed to give you an insight into the work of the teams and the brilliant care they provide their patients.  Each health event will be held in the Education Centre at the Royal Surrey and start at 7pm, with refreshments available from 6.30pm.  The forthcoming health event dates and topics are:

16th May 2012 - Palliative Care with Dr Andrew Davies and team

The presentation will start at 7pm in the Education Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital with tea and coffee available from 6.30pm. The evening is open to everyone and there will be an opportunity for people to sign up to join the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust if they are not already a member.

Past Events

March 2012 – Dr Adrian Blight on Stroke; how to prevent a stroke, treatment and the advances in stroke medicine.

January 2012 - Maternity with Jacqui Tingle, Head of Midwifery.  The evening covered a variety of aspects of the Maternity Department at the Royal Surrey but mainly focused on the active birth approach to pregnancy and labour.

November 2011 – Consultant Ophthalmologist Miss Anne Gilvarry is hosted an Ophthalmology health event focused on cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.   

September 2011 – Shaun Preston and the Oesophago-Gastric (OG) Surgery Team – Mr Preston and his team talked about OG cancer surgery and their recent trip to Seattle to look at how the American surgical teams use the Enhanced Recovery programme as part of their patients’ care.

Annual General Meeting

This year’s Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 22 September in the Education Centre at the hospital.
