Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

ATLS is a three-day course with the aim to teach a simple systematic approach to the management of trauma patients through interactive tutorials, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios.

The highly interactive course combining lectures, discussions, interactive tutorials, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios (Moulage).There are continual assessments throughout the course. Candidates must complete a pre-course MCQ.

This course is recommended for doctors who are within their first or second year of specialist training. We do have some places for those non medically qualified staff who would benefit from attending the course such A & E nurses ODP's etc. These places are offered as an observer and a certificate of attendance will be issued for all those attending the full course. Observers are expected to take the role of the nurse helper in the final scenario exam.
